Advanced Beginner Crochet - Working in Rows

Take the next step from Beginner Crochet to ADVANCED Beginner Crochet, by exporing further the concepts involved in working in rows ! In this class, you will learn how to crochet rows with the following techniques:
1. A deeper understanding of stitch and fabric anatomy
2. How placing your hook in different places when working single crochet stitches creates a completely different look and feel to regular single crochet fabric. We will put this into practice by learning the alternating BLO/FLO single crochet, and the crossed single crochet stitch.
3. How combining different stitches creates fabric that has a strikingly different physical and visual texture.
4. The Moss Stitch (combining single crochet and chain stitches)
5. How to change colour when working in rows
8. How to weave in tail ends
Participants will receive written and charted patterns for making Mug Rugs using the stitches outlined in point 2 above, and for a scarf using the Moss stitch
Participants must be 14 years or older to attend this class. For younger children who wish to learn (11 - 13), please contact us to arrange a private lesson.
Prerequisite: Must be able to comfortably chain, work into a foundation chain, and work single or double crochet stitches. If participant hasn’t crocheted regularly in the last 5 years, they should do the Beginner Crochet class first as a refresher.
