Add some beautiful colour to your knitting with stranded colour-work! In this class we’ll show you how to incorporate the stranded colour-work technique to your personal knitting style- whether it be English, Continental, or both! While working on a simple swatch, we will explore the technical aspects of colour-work, such as floats, colour theory, colour dominance, and how to approach colour-work in different kinds of projects. Before the end of the class, you will have the option of starting your very first colour-work hat project.
Materials Needed: Materials are not included, so we recommend you bring at least two colours of yarn in the same weight, and a corresponding needle size. We will be knitting our swatches flat.
Homework: although it is not required, we recommend you practice the knit stitch in both English and Continental style.
Optional Homework: If you choose to begin a hat project during the class, you must choose and download one of two pattern options, purchase your materials in advance, and the brim of the hat must be completed prior to the beginning of the class. Your hat project will be knit in the round using 16” circulars.
